Pamela Cantor, M.D., spoke at the Hope for Depression Research Foundation Luncheon, an annual event dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of depression and mental health challenges. Forbes featured the event in their article "13 Stylish Fashion Events In New York This Fall 2024." New York Social Diary also covered the event, emphasizing Dr. Cantor’s keynote address and her insights on the critical role of relationships in mental health.

The 18th Annual HOPE Luncheon Seminar was held on November 12, 2024, at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, and was hosted by Master of Ceremonies Chuck Scarborough. The event honored actress Mariska Hargitay with the 2024 Hope Award for Depression Advocacy.

Dr. Cantor’s keynote was titled “Trauma and Recovery: How the Brain Heals.”

“Trauma is ubiquitous, but it’s not destiny,” she said. Resilience is key. Pushing through adversity actually creates unique “magic muscles” that help you “create the power of your own agency …. Don’t let the worst thing that happened to you define you.”
