Hope for Depression Research Foundation 18th Annual HOPE Luncheon

Pamela Cantor, M.D., founder and CEO of The Human Potential L.A.B., delivered the keynote at the 18th Annual HOPE Luncheon hosted by the Hope for Depression Research Foundation at The Plaza Hotel.


Pamela Cantor, M.D., Founder and CEO of The Human Potential L.A.B., was the featured medical speaker at the 18th Annual HOPE Luncheon Seminar, held by the Hope for Depression Research Foundation at The Plaza Hotel. Dr. Cantor joined a distinguished group of scientists and philanthropists to address "Trauma and Recovery: How the Brain Heals."  

Speaking to an audience gathered to support and advance mental health research, Dr. Cantor highlighted the capacity of the human brain to heal, change and grow, underscoring that "trauma is not destiny" and that trust and supportive relationships play a pivotal role in helping people become the fullest expression of themselves. 

The event featured research insights into trauma and mental health by neuroscientist Rene Hen, PhD, and moving remarks from actor and advocate Mariska Hargitay, who was honored with the 2024 Hope Award for Depression Advocacy for her founding of the Joyful Heart Foundation and her long-running television role as Olivia Benson the Captain and Commanding Officer of the police drama Law & Order, Special Victims Unit. WNBC news anchor Chuck Scarborough served as emcee.
